Here's another one I found...she kind of sounds like Yula from Nanuchka but less punky...and instead of a middle-eastern influence it's got a bluegrass one. I really like her voice.
Also, here's a band from Montreal called Patrick Watson and the Wooden Arms. I just heard them last night; they describe themselves as storytellers, and have a big influence from Debussy and the impressionists. Kind of andrew bird-esque? Amazing music.
This Wild Beasts album, Two Dancers, is pretty good. So's the Lightning Dust album, Infinite Light, but I don't feel like picking a song off that one. Here's Wild Beasts -- All The King's Men.
Rodrigo y Gabriela's new album, "11:11" is apparently off the chain. From the one song I've heard, and the fact that every song on their last album was naaasty, I'm taking their word for it. Check out this song in the mean time, Buster Voodoo
This is a blog for friends. Whether you're an author on the blog or just passing through, please feel free to share some music by posting up links, players, or even just artist/song names--all suggestions are appreciated. Contributing is pretty simple: just spread what you're grooving to and keep the beats alive. Read the tutorials listed below (they're short, I promise) for help on different post functions.
