Deerhunter is good when you're in a sort of chilled out but still wanna hear some interesting music sort of mood. never too rambunctious, but not really boring either. i really like the album Microcastle, which is where this song is from.

Every song by Fleet Foxes is good, but it takes more than one listen to appreciate what is going on there. I listened to nothing but their self-titled album and their Sun Giant EP for weeks at the beginning of senior year.

The Hold Steady are sort of good to listen to when you feel like getting fucked up and causing some mayhem, but not because you're depressed--just because it would be fun. I used to listen to them on the Blue Bus after my last class on Thursdays. Hard to choose one song, but this one is sort of a bitching rock anthem. I like them, too, but don't play them that much.
