aural overload

So, this one'll actually be a discussion post. The topic: managing your unmanageable music collection.

Here's the thing: I have a fuckload of music. Like, an honest-to-god metric fuckload. The problem is, I've probably only really seriously listened to about 50% of it, if not less. A lot of this surplus is from friends, and a lot of it results from my ultra-OCD need to download every single album I hear about or stumble across. I seriously doubt I'm going to stop downloading new music, which means the ratio of familiar to unfamiliar music in my library is going to become increasingly disproportionate as time goes on.

What I'm going to do is begin posting up the names of random artists I find in my music library in the hopes that someone out there recognizes them and can give me feedback on their bumpability and recommendations for specific songs as avenues of approach. So, here are some artists off of the top of my head that I've heard great things about, and maybe even listened to a few times, but never spent the time getting to know:

Deerhunter
Fleet Foxes
Crystal Stilts
Flying Lotus
High Places
The Hold Steady
The Horrors
Ponytail
No Age
Titus Andronicus

What do people feel about this? Anyone in the same spot?
